Media Blast® offers many different configurations for the collection of Nuisance Dust using down draft work bench airflow. Designs that can also be a standalone work table less dust collector seen in the Tornado™ Work Table line.
The Tornado PC H/D, (Heavy Duty) is built with a structural frame capable of holding a high part weight. This is not a sheet metal cabinet but a structural frame with a filter plenum for balanced airflow and static pressure from one end of the work grates to the other end of the work grates.
The Tornado 36120 H/D is a simple, well-designed and cost-effective down draft work bench used for the control of almost any type of nuisance dust resulting from grinding, sanding, deburring and more. This unit is totally self-contained and includes cartridge filter numbers to pass the required airflow needed. The filters are MERV tested and rated for dust collector efficiency and fire-retardant. The Heavy Weight includes one of two separate standing backwards curve blower with vertical silencer to allow air discharge back into the area where the bench is located which prevents loss of heated or cooled air when working in smaller workspaces.
Choose the blower cfm size and the filter surface area needed to control your application dust needs.
The unit is offered as stand up model only, with an open top and directional sides and back, for down-ward airflow direction. Two blower CFMs are available.
Class II (Explosive Dusts) Hazardous substances
Class II locations are those that are hazardous because of the presence of combustible dust. Note that the dust must be present in sufficient quantities for a fire or explosion hazard to exist. The fact that there is some combustible dust present does not mean a Class II hazardous location exists. To be considered a “dust”, the combustible material must exist as a finely divided solid of 420 microns (0.420 mm) or less. Such a dust will pass through a No. 40 sieve. Just as in Class I, Division 1 and 2, the subdivision of Class II into Divisions 1 and 2 identifies the likelihood that there will be an explosion hazard. Always check local codes to make sure a nuisance dust collector can be used for an application.
